The Company

3rd Kuala Lumpur Co.

The 3rd Kuala Lumpur Company was established in 1957 - making it as old as the country! It's volunteers have served young people with decades worth of experience - most of whom have undergone the training themselves. Based at the YMCA of Kuala Lumpur, we accept member applications* from the public starting from the age of 7 until a recommended age of 16.

3rd Kuala Lumpur Company was founded before Malaya's independence by Mr Stanley Woodruff, a British gentlemen, who was an officer at the 1st Kuala Lumpur Company. Together with Mr Paul Peter, a Malaysian civil servant, reached out the the local Brickfield's community which was predominantly comprised of Indians. Mr Peter went on to become the Company's first captain.
